Tomball ISD Bond Projects: New Schools, Buses and Activity Centers Coming by 2028

Tomball Independent School District’s 2025 bond program is bringing a wave of upgrades that will reshape campuses across the district. During December 2025 board meetings, officials approved spending from 2021 and 2025 bond funds on new security cameras, furniture and equipment for Tomball West High School, additional sidewalk funds for the Early Excellence Academy and a fleet of 30 standard and 10 special education buses. These purchases improve student safety and transportation as enrollments grow.

The $429.1 million bond package also covers major capital projects currently in the planning and design phase. Construction of a new transportation and parking center is scheduled to begin in February 2027, and a new Tomball Intermediate School is set to break ground in October 2026 with completion expected by May 2028. The district will use the new intermediate site to replace its 64‑year‑old campus located on Main Street, which struggles with traffic congestion.

Tomball ISD is also building multi‑program activity centers at every high school, each featuring an 80‑yard indoor turf field and flexible space for band, athletics and community events. Tomball High will prototype the design with construction slated between October 2026 and May 2028, while Tomball Memorial and Tomball West High School will follow with construction through 2029. Athletic facility upgrades across the district include artificial turf installation or replacement, track restriping, LED lighting, press box additions, additional baseball and softball seating and new gym bleachers.
